College Fund (On-going)
TLC is establishing a College Fund to assist Tibetan children who would like to continue a higher education. It is a turning point for many young Tibetans after high school and crucial for many Tibetan families to afford expensive college tuitions. TLC is creating an opportunity for young Tibetans to continue their college education and be able to have a better living skills. Please contact us if you are interested in helping. Manjushree Orphanage, Tawang, India (Completed in 2009)
TLC funded the installation of a solar water heating system at Manjushree Orphanage which is located in Tawang, Northeast India, in the foothills of the Himalayas. The children will be able to access hot water for washing and shower during the cold winter. In 2009, TLC also completed the constructions of a new building providing kitchen, dining hall, and multi-purpose activity hall. Prayer Wheels, Russia (Completed in 2005)
During the Art of Compassion Tour in two Mongolian Republics in Russia, Lobsang expended the donation locally and installed two large prayer wheels at Elista in Kalmykia and Arata Square in Tuva. These prayer wheels are both installed in front of the white house and have become a landmark in their own region. They also become popular tourist sites, which have been greatly appreciated as a gift from Lobsang. Additionally, according to Lobsang's idea, Compassion Buddha's prayer, Om Mani Peedme Hum mantra was created on the Tuva mountains. It was layed with rocks across at least 150 meters in length (See photo below). Tibetan Settlement, South India (Completed in 2002)
TLC has funded several projects in Hunsur, Tibetan Settlement in South India. Among the projects, there were a solar hot water system, an electric generator, medical supplies for the hospital, and a playground for the preschool. |
